Jota Marsán 

 Con sólo 7 años cursa estudios de guitarra española (  Flamenco) durante dos años

       
      Aunque ya le picaba el gusanillo de la Batería no le quedó más remedio que seguir con la guitarra, ya que para tener una batería en casa era un problema económico y de espacio
 
      Decidió hacerse una batería con los típicos “tambores de colón “(envases de un conocido detergente)
        
      Con el fin de ver tocar a los redoblantes de caja, no se perdía una procesión y así, poco a poco, fue dejando la guitarra de lado
        
      Otro cambio de domicilio fue el que le dio la oportunidad de meterse mas en el mundo de la música, conocer gente con sus mismas inquietudes, con guitarras y bajos eléctricos, pero curiosamente sin batería
       
      Con 14 años se compra su primera batería
        
     
      empezó solo en un local de ensayo practicando ritmos, y en cuestión de semanas, empezó a ensayar con su primera banda
        
      Consciente de sus limitaciones estimó que lo más sensato era tomar clases

pero había algo que no le gustaba
        
      Es como cuando te vas a sacar el carnet de conducir: estas deseando coger el coche, pero primero hay que sacar el teórico
        
      Lo que quería era dar palos  (y eso hizo), siguió ensayando en su local, escuchando discos, ritmos diferentes y tocando encima de las canciones – que difícil parecía llevar el mismo tempo 
       
      Decidió estudiar todos esos ritmos siempre con claqueta (medidor de tiempo)
       
      Los escuchaba, los desmenuzaba y los llevaba a su terreno
 
      Por todo ello hay que decir que, Jota Marsán es totalmente autodidacta, toca batería, guitarra, bajo,cajon,pailas,congas,productor y compositor 
  
      Tiene un largo curriculum con artistas con los que ha girado y sigue girando y múltiples colaboraciones en grabaciones
  
      Su faceta latina, le viene desde los 23 años, cuando unos músicos le vieron tocar y le propusieron tocar salsa
 
      Era todo un reto que, de forma inconsciente aceptó, - es un ritmo que parece fácil pero en salsa, la clave es la clave  y eso le hizo ver la batería de diferente manera
  
      A lo largo de estos años ha tocado con distintas bandas, interpretando todos los estilos
  
    Musicalmente hablando dice: "el tempo y el groove es lo que predomina, sin esas dos cosas no hay nada"

What I wanted was to give sticks (and it did), continued testing at your site, listening to records, and playing different rhythms on top of the songs - that seemed difficult to keep the same tempo-.
 
Decided to study all these rhythms always Slate (meter time).

Therefore it must be said tha Jota Marsan is entirely self-taught.
 
It has a long resume with artists whom it has revolved and still spinning, and multiple collaborations on recordings.
 
His latin side, it comes from the 23 years when he few musicians were playing and he suggested playing salsa.
 
It was a challenge that, unconsciously accepted - is a pace that seems easy but in salsa, the cave is the key - and that made him see the battery differently.
 
Throughout these years has played with varius bands, playing almost all styles.
 
Has some ability to adapt as it is a very steady player.
